Bug Description

banshee-community-extensions combines a number of disparate third-party Banshee addons into a single coherent and tested time-based release.

b-c-e contains a number of addons which are already packaged separately in Ubuntu (i.e. the existing packages will be built from b-c-e source instead of their own):
 * banshee-alarm-extension
 * bansheelyricsplugin
 * banshee-extension-mirage

b-c-e includes a number of new addons not previously available in Ubuntu:
 * banshee-extension-awn
 * banshee-extension-lcd
 * banshee-extension-radiostationfetcher
 * banshee-extension-streamrecorder

b-c-e contains further extensions which are in the source, but not considered ready for primetime by the Banshee packaging team yet:
 * banshee-extension-clutterflow
 * banshee-extension-lirc

The above details relate to the 1.5.4 release of b-c-e. b-c-e 1.5.5 includes further addons - including, importantly, an Ubuntu One Music Store extension which has been developed with help from the Ubuntu One team.

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. as written on IRC, I think it's ok, but I'm starting to get hesitant to accept complete source-new package due to the limitation of archive admin's time. Maybe being new'd in unstable might alleviate that. Still you'd need to convince an archive admin to do source new. If all that applies, consider the FFe as granted.

(this was accepted into Debian, and is now waiting in the Lucid queue)

A preliminary review of the source package shows that the following existing binaries are provided by banshee-community-extensions:
banshee-extension-alarm (source is banshee-alarm-extension)
banshee-extension-coverwallpaper (source is banshee-coverwallpaper)
banshee-extension-lyrics (source is bansheelyricsplugin)
banshee-extension-mirage (source is banshee-extension-mirage)

What is the plan to deal with the existing source packages in Lucid?

All individual banshee-extension-* providing source packages are meant to be deleted from Ubuntu once banshee-community-extensions is accepted, as they have all shifted into banshee-community-extensions upstream as well.

Not seeing this in synaptic yet, is it still in queue for sync from Debian?

@Brendan_P: looks like it's built and waiting in the NEW queue. Probably going out after the beta 2 freeze is lifted
