signal strength mismatch between systray and app

I'm using wicd 1.6.1, from the Karmic repositories.

The problem is that the signal strength is not reported consistently: the value is the same in the systray and in the status bar, but different from networks list. Indeed, in the list it is always lower. Another glitch is that when I click refresh, the strengths on the list are updated, but not on the status bar and systray. On the other hand, when the signal changes the systray and status bar are updated automatically, but not the list.

Another glitch is that if I slowly move away from the router, the signal strength decreases, jumps to 0 dBm, and disconnects. This is ugly, because the systray goes green.
