I get the same problem when I put the following text (no quotes) in my Software Sources (Other Software) dialogue in Ubuntu 9.10: "ppa:qgis/stable". The message I get is:
Failed to fetch http:// ppa.launchpad. net/qgis/ stable/ ubuntu/ dists/karmic/ main/binary- i386/Packages. gz 404 Not Found
Any idea why?
