Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Kubuntu 9.10
Device notifier applet
USB devices cannot be ejected
Get the message
"Cannot unmount the device.
One or more files are open in an application"
This is not true. I get this message every time with all USB mass storage devices, on multiple computers.
The only way to safely unmount seems to be to run
sudo eject /dev/... or /media/...

Persists with KDE 4.4. Not a problem in gnome, so I think the problem is in the KDE applet, not the mounting.

Sorry, I was at work when I read the request and forgot it when I went home. No output for the command just after a refusal to umount..

arthur@chubby:~$ lsof /media/

      Output information may be incomplete.

Running as regular user gives no output.

Both hang for a while before returning to a prompt.
