Bug Description
Binary package hint: mobile-
When plugging in my Huawei E160G HSDPA Modem (which shows up as E220/E270 on the lsusb command) it always connects (after got firmware updated) but only in about 80 % of the time it resolves DNS correctly. The problem can be fixed by manually entering the DNS server(s) in the mobile connection settings.
I talked to other people experiencing similar issues with other providers (A1 for example) and different modems (but always Huawei).
So after connection to internet has been established when opening browser and e.g. trying to go to http://
Affected kernels:
2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 16:20:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux and earlier
and also recent kernel used Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha 2
I am not sure if this is a double of - or is somehow related to - https:/
How can I further help on this?
OK, I think this https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ mobile- broadband- provider- info/+bug/ 498110 and this https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ mobile- broadband- provider- info/+bug/ 449484 somehow covers my issue.
Right?
