Bug Description

In some ad-hoc user testing, when looking at <https://edge.launchpad.net/~mbp/+archive/ppa> stephane reported that it seems like you should be able to click a package in the table at the bottom, but you can't. Clicking that name might be expected to either

 * show the changelog for that package
 * let you download just a single binary package

You can kind of get to this from "View package details" but that link's not very obvious, and the data you actually want about the package is still hidden within expansion areas on that page.

Hi Martin!

We've actually been wanting to switch the list of packages displayed there on the PPA home page to the installable binary packages for a while now, but haven't found the time. This would allow us to fix a number of other inconsistencies (ie. 'View package details' link would become simply 'Source packages' - something which mainly developers are interested in, the ppa index page would help *users* answer the main question 'Do I want to install this stuff/add this channel?')

But even with the binary packages listed there, expanding to show the changelog would still be a good option.

Let me know if you're in agreement about listing the installable binary packages on the ppa index page (you're our biggest source of feedback ;) ), and if so, we can re-title this bug and get it scheduled.

I think that would be great. My partner was trying to get update
packages for something yesterday and got temporarily stumped by that.
You could split off "show changelog" from "download binary" bugs.

OK, I've created bug 496862 for showing the installable binaries on the index page.
