Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I'am trying to burn cd like before my upgrade to Karmic...with rhythmbox.
Brasero were uninstalled because it was too buggy....he wasn't burning nothing...he was just freezing at normalizing tracks...
I've made a lot of cd qith rhythmbox....but now after the upgrade he gives me that error
"Rhythmbox could not record the audio disk, Failed to execute child process "brasero" (No such file or directory)"

Why do I have to install brasero?
Rhythmbox really need brasero? if yes how in ubuntu 9.04, Rhythmbox could burn cd without brasero?

thanks

here is my info:
Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
Rhythmbox package version :0.12.5-0ubuntu5
Brasero: is not installed

yes it does need brasero to burn cds with gnome 2.28, that's an upstream decision, without it you can't burn cds with rhythmbox, in the past it used nautilus-cd-burner but that was deprecated by brasero, if you're having issues with brasero please open a new report about that, closing this one, thanks.

Changed in rhythmbox (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Won't Fix
