freeze when sending a mail with attachment

Bug Description

on an IMAP account,

I try to send an e-mail with an attachment => complete freeze, even the magic SysRq keys do not work any more.

I think this comes from the name of the attachment which has a long absolute name :
/home/benoit/Etudes/Externes/Projets/Challenge/LaTeX/Challenge.tex

When I copy this file on my desktop (/home/benoit/Desktop) and try again, then it works (provided I have removed the other e-mail from the Sendbox, otherwise it will freeze again).

This bug has been reproduced on my machine several times. No matter how many times I will retry, the problem is solved only when I send another file.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Is that specific to that mail only? Do you have anything to /var/log/messages or syslog? I doubt that's an evolution issue, if linux stops responding that's probably a linux issue

I use Dapper Drake.

I had this bug three times in a month, not with the same file.

My log files don't seem to report this issue.
I use k7 kernel. I am maybe going to try with a 386.

I cannot really say whether I still have a problem, I don't know. Last
occurrence was about 2 months ago. It seems to be highly non reproductible!
