Thunderbid doesn't open remote attache before send email

Bug Description

When i attached a file on one outgoing email, i always check before send if the file is correct, but now i can't open the file.
I try with file pdf, ods, txt, odt but doesn't open nothing and there aren't error!
The file are in a samba share, if i try to open local file there aren't problem.
With ubuntu 09.04 i hadn't the same problem.
I don't known if is a thunderbird problem or smfs problem, i try with debian sid and i don't have the problem (icedove 2.0.0.22 smbfs 3.4.2-1)

i try with thunderbird 3.0 directly from mozilla installer and it's ok.
it's a thunderbird karmic version problem

Thank you for having taken the time to report a problem with Ubuntu and Thunderbird. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.

You made this bug report in 2009 regarding Thunderbird and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?

Or, if it still might be a problem, it would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
