Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdm

Hi,

On a first boot after a shutdown, kdm doesn't start. I see this in the syslog:
<code>
May 28 17:31:13 localhost kdm: :0[5242]: Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 127, signal 0
</code>
or sometimes:
<code>
May 27 15:05:56 localhost kdm: :0[5332]: Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 0, signal 11
</code>
When i reboot, it does start and i get this:
<code>
May 27 15:07:45 localhost kdm_greet[5424]: Can't open default user face
May 27 15:07:53 localhost kdm_greet[5424]: Internal error: memory corruption detected
</code>
I don't overclock and i tested the ram for 24 hours without a single error so i assume the cause is not "physical" memory.
I'm running an up-to-date dapper upgraded from breezy about two month ago.

I think this is duplicate of bug 37529.

Not sure if upgrade from breezy -> dapper is the root cause for corrupted ~/.face.icon file.
