Various "crashs" in a Thinkpad T20 after update from Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10

My sound card don't work appropriately after update my system to Ubuntu 9.10.
The system report a kernel serious problem. I'm using 2.6.31-14-generic.
And the Palimpsest report "the disk has many bad sectors".
