(karmic) can not connect to DSL either system wide or local setting

I have the same problem, but I have the x86 version.
Additionally a "Insufficient privileges" appears.

Same problem here guys,
  NM can't connect to internet through DSL connections.

I've verified that DNS resolution works, though. Ping and web surfing does not.

Interesting thing is that a simple 'pppoeconfig' brings the connection up full and working. So it is not a hardware problem.

Indeed, it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.

After running pppoeconf, you can connect to internet with "pon dsl-provider".

At Bug #432205 there is an advice to run the following commands:
sudo stop network-manager
sudo sh -c "NM_PPP_DEBUG=true NetworkManager --no-daemon"

(I killed the nm-applet before and restarted it)

and connect to internet

Hi there,
i can confirm this Bug for 3G-UMTS-Sticks too.

The Stick isn't accepted with NM but is tried to be mounted as a usb-drive...

same problem here. no internet connection after update and i'm not able to edit my connections : "Insufficient privileges" and sometimes crashes of the network manager :(

Same problem here! I used Mint 7 and everything runs, with Karic - nothing! I've made no Upgrade, I've installed Karmic new, but nothing runs with DSL. When I use the Live-CD, nothing happens, too :-(

I managed to fix the problem by adding some PPA, I even started helping people, now after an update I'm stuck again in the same problem, and "pon" doesn't work either, are we using a beta or a final release? I really need someone to yell at right now!!!
