Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu 10.04 install , that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of the project.

The Samba Browser is not included in the default installation and most users don't install it, so this is not a paper cut.
For further info about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project.

Changed in hundredpapercuts:
status: New → Invalid
affects: ubuntu → samba (Ubuntu)

The sorting would need to be implemented in the system-config-printer display, so moving to system-config-printer.

affects: samba (Ubuntu) → system-config-printer (Ubuntu)
Changed in system-config-printer (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Wishlist

This bug is an upstream one and it would be quite helpful if somebody experiencing it could send the bug the to the people writing the software. You can learn more about how to do this for various upstreams at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream.
Once submitted upstream , do report back here with the upstream bug number.
Thanks in advance!

Patches welcome. I think this needs to be done with a TreeModelSort.
