Since I have no network connection, is there any way to upgrade short of burning the latest ISO?

It is worthwhile for the community to burn a Beta ISO to verify the fix?

I can confirm that the problem exists on latest beta I downloaded on Sat Oct 3. My Acer Aspire 6930G can see both network card (wired and wireless) fine on 9.04 but not on 9.10.

9.04 sees the cards as:

07:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100
09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Attansic Technology Corp. L1e Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (rev b0)

          *-network

I don't know if it makes a difference but 9.10 ISO is 64bit whereas 9.04 is i686 (the ones I tested).

Thanks

Hmm... perhaps I posted on the wrong bug. For me 9.10 does not see the ethernet adapters while 9.04 does. It's my first Ubuntu installation for desktop so I am not familiar with network managers and all. To me it appears as if the driver has problems.

The latest beta did fix the problem (2.6.31-11 IIRC).

Downloaded the final release just now. Neither my laptop nor my desktop can have wired (or wireless) internet. Wired card in both cases is Attansic. Laptop is an Acer (mainstream model). Apparently this is fixed for NJC but not for my 2 different model/brand computers that have 2 years difference in purchase.

Thanks for 9.10 release, looks good on live CD - can't use it though without network.
