Bug Description

Since the Karmic updates of Sept 15/16th, my powerpc G4 freezes completly after the first few lines of boot, roughly:

[ 0.NNNNN] radeonfb: invalid rom contents
udev[606] unknown key 'SYMLINK(unique)' in /lib/udev/rules.d/50-udev-default.rules:3
init: hwclock main process (807) terminated with status 1
mountall: /sndstat No such file or directory
(followed by a few similar mountall messages)

and then the system freezes totally. Hard reboot necessary. If I can provide further information, I will gladly do so, but as of now I am not sure which package to report against or what to include in the report.

The whole system is unusable and stuck. How can I provide more info on this critical bug?

I have a similar problem with a non-ppc box (freeze during boot that requires a hard reset); mine is a Phenom II X4 945 w/ Radeon 4850HD. I also get the udev errors but am not sure that the two are related, since lots more happens afterwards. Anyway, here they are.

as the OP, I confirm that this is fixed with today's updates (which include mountall - 0.1.7 as explained in #432222)
