Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

I intended to edit my connections when network manager crashed.

I think the following problem might not relate to this bug but probably important to mention that network manager (or network manager applet) does not allow to add wired connections to my network settings. Wired networks are not shown although I connected the computer properly and it is easy to get a connection by typing in a terminal:

dhclient eth0

In edit connections, I added a new connection and check box to connect automatically was activated. But does not work. This problem is same for dsl-connections although it is easy to be online by typing

pon dsl-provider

in a teminal after setting everything properly by pppoeconf.

I have not experienced any crash since the latest packages but the issue with adding any wired or dsl connection still exist. Wireless networks are detected properly and used perfectly but connecting the eth0 interface does not seem to show any sign of operation.

The problem with automatic connection was solved by deleting all earlier created connections from
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/

I think this bug is not a bug anymore.
