Bug Description
Binary package hint: cryptsetup
I have done a fresh install of Kubuntu Karmic on my X200s laptop. I have used same/similar disk layout as I use on Jaunty:
- /boot on regular partition (/dev/sda1)
- / on LVM volume on regular physical partition (/dev/sda3)
- /home on LVM volume on top of dm-crypt physical volume (/dev/sda2)
Karmic boot fails almost in 100% (I think boot succeeded once or twice), because fsck fails finding UUID of my /home partition (see attached /var/log/
I have attached "fdisk -l /dev/sda" and "vgdisplay -v" output. If anything more is needed, please let me know.

SourcePackage: cryptsetup
Uname: Linux 2.6.31-6-generic x86_64
With recent 2.6.31-7 kernel in Karmic, this issue becomes even worse - boot process hangs after setting up dm-crypt volume. Booting -6 kernel works (with above workaround).
I have added linux tasks, as it seems recent kernel update makes it works.
I would like this to be milestoned for next alpha release, but I will leave the decision to someone else.
