Actually, I see that this may have already been fixed. Steve, do you still see this problem with couchdb 0.9.0-2ubuntu5 ?

The bug occurred when upgrading from couchdb 0.9.0-2ubuntu3 to couchdb 0.9.0-2ubuntu5. I've tested via reinstalling couchdb 0.9.0-2ubuntu5 and it does indeed appear to be fixed. Marking as such.
