Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

When I am starting thunderbird without any network connection it doesn't activate offline mode automatically, but ten(!) error messages (Failed to connect to server) pop up. This is very annoying.

I tried to change the "offline.startup_state" and "offline.autoDetect" setting, but nothing changes. Firefox detects the offline state correctly though.

There is a discussion about this at Ubuntu brainstorm, but I think it's a bug because it works in firefox.

There is a config option toolkit.network.manager.disable that is true by default. I've just set this to false and now the offline status is synchronised with network-manager's. Let's see how this goes.

I changed the value of the key toolkit.network.manager.disable to false, but offline status is still not synchronized with NM.
Are you using Ubuntu Maverick or any other Ubuntu version?
