Bug Description

Binary package hint: mdetect

In preparation for merge of xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse package I need to update mdetect package so it doesn't ship vmmouse_detect anymore.

EDIT:
Instead of trying to prepare a good debdiff I'm requesting sync of new mdetect 0.5.2.2 from debian unstable.
A changelog since 0.5.2.1:
mdetect (0.5.2.2) unstable; urgency=low

* New maintainer. (Closes: #522258)
* Fixed many lintian warnings and an error. (Closes: #395751)

Why our changes can be dropped:
- Our only change was to add vmmouse_detect binary and corresponding documentation to this package. Because we are in progress of merging xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse from Debian Unstable we have to remove those files from mdetect anyway.

Instead of ripping out the entire code in a patch (which won't apply any more in the next version), why not just stop installing it into the package?

That is a great idea.. Really, I wonder why did I overcomplicate it (well, the package was last changed in Debian 4 years ago but still...). Hmm.. actually to stop files from installing into the package I'd have to modify more files (patched Makefiles installs files in debian/tmp/mdetect... and then they are included in package by default ignoring mdetect.install and mdetect.files.
Maybe this patch? It just stops patch from being applied (and remove quilt patch system altogether).

No, I meant, just drop vmmouse_detect from mdetect.install.
