Bug Description

Problem first appeared after upgrade from intrepid with kde4.2 to jaunty. Problem remains after installing kde 4.2.3
The systemlanguage was recently changed from german to english with no effect on the problem. (Systemsettings confirms both german and english to be installed languages)

Some examples of the "funny display" are:
http://saved.im/mte0nzy3cndh/ff1.png (firefox 3.0.10)
http://saved.im/mte0nzy0ndnj/ff.png (firefo 3.0.10)
http://saved.im/mte0nzyycdln/konv1.png (konversation 1.1.75)

Those signs also appear in some entries of the right-click menues and I have no clue what is causing them or why they only appear in some entries and not all of them.
The Font is Ori1Uni

Hi,

I created a new account, everything seemed fine.
When I switched the font the characters reappeared. So it appears to be related to the font that is used.

I tried switching the font on my normal user-account. The characters disappeared.

Hi,

problem has vanished at some point and I can no longer reproduce. I haven't been using the font causing the problem for a long time either. I never knew what package was causing this, that's why I didn't add it. Probably or possibly kwin?

Anyhow I guess this can be considered outdated/closed
