Howdy Ubuntu Archive Admins-

Just a friendly explanation of the 'byobu' package in Karmic's new queue.

This package is a straight rename of the screen-profiles package (source and binaries).

Hi, it seems screen-profiles has now re-entered Karmic by way of sync from Debian. Therefore reopening removal bug as it presumably needs to be re-removed and sync-blacklisted.

Confirmed.

screen-profiles should not exist in Karmic. Byobu has superceded screen-profiles.

What do you mean by "the proper manner"? I think Max is right
that it just needs removing and blacklisting.

When a package changes name, isn't it good practice to have a meta-
package by the old name that installs the new one?

removed again; not bothering with blacklisting because I'm assuming screen-profiles will also go away in Debian before there's another reupload.
