Why: As of 0.5.7.4-0.2, debian's version build-deps upon libdb-dev which simply depends on the latest libdb-dev (currently libdb4.7-dev). Ubuntu does not differ from debian in this regard; both are currently at libdb4.7. This is actually a smart move which will make this package always depend on the latest libdb-dev, and hence less maintenance in the future everytime libdb is updated.
