Can you please explain in what manner it is an issue in
xkeyboard-config?

@Marcelo,

What setting do you normally have in System::Preferences::Appearance::Visual Effects?
Does ALT-TAB work if you set it to NONE?
Does ALT-TAB work if you set it to NORMAL?

Also please run these two commands:
gconftool-2 -R /apps/metacity > metacity_gconf_all.txt
gconftool-2 -R /apps/compiz > compiz_gconf_all.txt
(and then attach the files metacity_gconf_all.txt and compiz_gconf_all.txt to the bug report)

Finally, can you please run this command to give us a bit more data:
apport-collect 368661

Hi Marcelo. This is not a bug in Ubuntu, it's a configuration issue on your machine.
You have "switch_windows = disabled" in your metacity gconf and it should be "switch_windows = <Alt>Tab".

You might have had this already in intrepid without noticing because back then you were using the compiz window manager instead of metacity (however in 9.04 we disabled DRI on your chipset due to nasty bug so you fell back from using compiz to metacity). If you're interested in the details of this, check out this bug:

Changed in xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
