Bug Description
Changing this setting to false is supposed to disable the audible bell and it does. However, if I suspend and then resume my laptop (Dell D620) on a docking station the bell is back. If I open gconf-editor it still shows as disabled. Then, if I toggle the setting on/off and close gconf-editor the bell is disabled again, as it should be and stays that way until the next suspend/resume on the docking station. Note that I'm pretty sure this is a compiz bug but since the setting has "metacity" in the name I'm doubting myself. I'm using a standard 8.10 install.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
