I've been using nv for a while and still got a kernel panic.
I'm attaching a snip of my apt changes. A quick look only showed xserver-xorg-core 2:1.6.0-0ubuntu12 as a related packaged.

I'm also attaching a batch of fresh logs.

Since this could be HW related I run several pass of mem test, and fsck, and found no HW related problem.

Not sure if this is related to Bug 359392 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359392

Hi BUGabundo,

Unfortunately the last set of attachments didn't seem to capture any kernel panic/oops. So I'm pasting a stack trace from one of your original kern.log files. The next time you experience a lock up, could you try to ssh into the machine if possible and see if anything is captured in your dmesg? It might not also hurt to give the most recet 2.6.29 kernel a test to see if this exists with the upstream kernel as well - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds.

Bugabundo, 359392 is being handled as an intel-specific issue at this time, so I think your bug should not be duped to that one.

Also, X freezes and kernel panics are completely different issues. So if you do find you're getting an X freeze that is not kernel related (i.e., you can ssh into the machine when it's frozen, and there are no kernel error messages in any system logs), you should file it as a separate bug.
