unable to open file from network share

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Since the recent update to openoffice I am unable to open files from a network share. If I copy the file to my local computer they will open. When I attempt to open from the network share, I see the openoffice splash, but then nothing else happens. This worked without issue prior to most recent update.
