terribly slow K menu performance

Bug Description

After some upgrades K menu performance became very slow, especially when there are many icons. For example when I click Internet menu animation and scrolling are very choppy. No matter if Kwin compositions are enabled. I'm using Kubuntu Jaunty beta.

After re-loging K menu is smooth as expected, but I wonder what caused this strange behaviour?

Difficult to tell now.

My guess would be that X started eating your memory. Possibly caused by a driver/X build mismatch ... apparently that can happen at times ... never noticed that myself though :)
