Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwenview

In some situation gwenview shows the 'previous' button enabled and the 'next' button disabled while beying on the 1. image. User cannot move anywhere with those buttons in such situation. It happnes in picture view mode also in picture browse mode.

In other (different folder) case, both buttons are enabled .. but pressing the 'previous' button of course does nothing.

How to reproduce : open a folder in Dolphin (or Krusader) with for example 5 images named:
 1.jpg, 2.jpg,3.jpg,4.jpg,5.jpg

Open the first one (1.jpg) . The picture is shown in gwenview. Already here the previous, next buttons are incorrectly disabled/enabled. .. The user cannot navigate. After pressing 'esc' and going to picture browsing mode .. the buttons stay the same. They refresh after navigation with keyboard , for example to the right and left ... then the buttons are correct since.

Using :
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04
Codename: jaunty
- update to current

Package version : gwenview 4:4.2.1-0ubuntu1

I confirm the bug in Gwenview 2.3.0, KDE 4.2.95, installed from Kubuntu Backports PPA in Kubuntu 9.04. It is perfectly reproducible every time.

Moreover, when opening the LAST file in a folder, both the "Previous" and the "Next" buttons are activated. While "Previous" functions as expected, clicking on "Next" does nothing. Again, reaching the first file or the last file in the folder by navigating from intermediary files makes the buttons activate correctly.

If this is still an issue in RC2 or RC3, could you please report a bug at bugs.kde.org and link it here? Thanks.

I am experiencing the same problem, but I am thinking that it is because of the sort order of photos.
1) In my case I opened dolphing, located a directory with photos and videos, and I clicked the first one.
2) both of left an right navigation buttons were enabled
3) by clicking the NEXT button nothing hapens
4) by clicking the PREV button I noticed that it go bottom to the next photo shown in Dholpin.
5) Then I realized that photos were sorted from latest to oldest.

¿Does Gwenview copy the order that Dolphin, or other provider of files, is using to follow it? It has sence, but I believe that it is not intuitive.

My SO is Kubuntu 9.04,
KDE 4.30.1,
Gwenview 2.3.1

Regards,
PD: between 1) and 2) I deleted some photos from inside Gwenview by using DEL key, I was faced to a crash of Gwenview due to a segmentation fault, and then reopened it vía clicking over the first photo, but it has no relation with the problem because I closed Dolphing and Gwenview, and reopened them in the same maner and I could reproduce it.
