Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-orca

Firefox Table cell navigation ( Shift+Alt+Arrow ) won't work for compiz-fusion users. The same keybinding is used for "Show All Windows (Scale)" in compiz-fusion.

If you really need compiz, the best work-around for now is to configure compiz to not use that keybinding. How you do this I don't know, since I don't use compiz. Otherwise, go to the appearance preferences and disable desktop effects.

This is not a deficiency with Orca - This is a problem with Compiz: It needs to remove those keybindings.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. The compiz program that we currently use in Ubuntu is a C++ re-write of the original compiz and was announced the 4th July 2010. Therefore, the bugs that were reported before that date, will be marked as "Won't Fix" as they probably exist in the original program which is not stored in launchpad. (The last LTS that used the old compiz is the 10.04 which is not supported anymore).

status: Confirmed → Won't Fix
