Bug Description

There's a possibility that this driver will be part of Jaunty, but it would be nice to have the option to try it out ahead of time, to compare with vesa. The source is here:

Thank you for all that you do.

Openchrome is the Jaunty default, with no via driver installed so far as I can tell (although there is something in the repositories called the via "transitional package" for eventually installing openchrome... I don't understand what that means.) I'm having some problems with openchrome while switching users, so having the actual, official via driver available as a deb might be great. Thanks.

Sorry but we don't have the resources required to work on driver packages.

Unless I completely misunderstood, this driver is already in someone's PPA, and I thought it was someone from Launchpad. It's been a while, but as I recall, I installed it and it worked fine. Let me know if you want more details.

ricardisimo,
driver packages requires intensive testing because they are hw dependent and affect the overall system stability. They will be better handler if available from the official repositories.
