Bug Description

Binary package hint: newsbeuter

After upgrading an 8.10 to 9.04 beta with all current updates applied, newsbeuter is unusable due to a totally scrambled display.

I am running newsbeuter via ssh/screen on a remote server.

My config for newsbeuter:

$ cat .newsbeuter/config
browser w3m

I tested this with gnome-terminal and urxvt. Both of them show the same error, it looks like strange UTF8-signs are displayed. See attached screenshots.

[update]

To reproduce this bug start newsbeuter with

$ TERM=screen-256color newsbeuter

I've tried recreating this Maverick and been unsuccessful and as such I am setting the bug's status to Fix Released. Additionally the source packages CHANGES file contains the following:

2.1 (2009-12-08):
 ...
 Added support for 256-color terminals

In the event that this is still an issue for you please feel free to reopen the bug task by setting its status to New.

Changed in newsbeuter (Ubuntu):
status: New → Fix Released
