Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution won't import a .ics calendar file straight from Firefox, you need to save it first, then import it (hassle). I'd like to be able to tell Firefox to open my .ics with Evolution and have it automatically added (it can prompt for details).

Wouldnt this a an evolution issue since its not firefox's fault evo cant import. if you right click the .ical and open it in new tab you cant copy and paste the link.ical and input in into evo?
Also when it gives you the download dialog cant you open it with evolution instead of saving the file?

If firefox can open the ical ina screen than this is not a firefox issue since evo "NEEDS" it to be saved first.

Yeah, this is an evolution problem. You can tell Firefox to open the file in Evo rather than save it, but Evo won't import it that way.

Yes, this is reproducible. Simply obtain an ICS (.ics) file and try to open it with evolution:

$ evolution ~/Desktop/108481.ics

(evolution:19494): evolution-shell-WARNING **: Invalid URI: /home/brian/Desktop/108481.ics
