However, according to this report, you are not using the most recent version of this package for your Ubuntu release (2.2.4-1ubuntu1.1). Please upgrade to the most recent version and let us know if you are still having this issue. Thanks in advance.

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 and the latest aMule version (2.2.6). Now the problem is solved.
