notification flickers when fading out

Bug Description

Binary package hint: alsdorf

Prereq.:
 + xorg intel driver
 + 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)
 + AccellMethod UXA (haven't checked EXA)
 + compiz on

Reproduce:
 notify-send "Summary" "test message"

Result:
 Notification appears, stays for a while, then fades out, but instead of disappearing forever, it reappears for a short period of time before disappearing again

Expected Result:
 Notification appears and fades out without coming back.

If this is driver specific (aka you cannot reproduce), I can also try EXA accellmethod. Let me know.

Confirming: happens to me too, on nvidia-180 and radeonhd (so looking not driver specific)

That's most likely due to the notification/bubble-windows not being skipped by the window-match rules for the fade- and animation-plugins of compiz. Newer compiz package should automatically bring you these fixes.

If you prefer to use a custom compiz profile, just make sure you add

!(title=notify-osd)

to the window-match rule of any animation- or fade-plugin setting that might mess around with fades or other manipulations of windows.

In my case it flickers ONLY when fading in.
I've just tested if this happens when creating a new user (so with
default settings) and it happens
