Bug Description

When I try to access certain websites using a secure connection (starting with https) my browser displays a generic message saying it can't establish the connection. It happens for example with this site: https://webmail-estudiante.uam.es/

I could access it in Intrepid with no problems until beginning of January. I've tested it on Windows and it works perfectly with Explorer and Firefox. In Ubuntu, it doesn't work with any browser (firefox, epiphany, konqueror, opera). I've tested it in Jaunty as well, and it doesn't work.

I have the same problem without ubufox...

I've tried to make a traceroute to webmail-estudiante.uam.es and this is what I get:

pablo@pandora:~$ traceroute webmail-estudiante.uam.es
traceroute to webmail-estudiante.uam.es (150.244.9.34), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
 1 pandora.local (192.168.1.34) 0.380 ms 0.699 ms 0.908 ms

And a ping to the ip of webmail-estudiante.uam.es, 150.244.9.34, says "Destination Port Unreachable".

I don't know where can be the problem.

And thanks for the testing, John. For me it's not a Firefox problem, as it happens with every browser in Linux, it's something about routing maybe?

After two months, the issue was solved misteriously. I can access since yesterday.

I guess I'll never know the reason...

Yes, it's enabled by default as far as I know... do you think it has something to do with the problem?

Pablo i wasnt asking if it was enable, but if your network has it...
'cause it was fixed recently a bug (bug 313218) that would cause strange problems.

When I enter my username and password the page comes up blank, when trying to access my bank information. Error message states that this website requires that enable pop up blocker(s) when I enable the page still comes up blank. I have never had this problem before.
