Kopete MSN incompatible with Radius IM contacts

Binary package hint: kopete-kde4

kopete-4:4.2.0-0ubuntu3

When I connect to an MSN account with Kopete it starts to eat RAM, the system starts swapping and eventually I have to kill it (if i can get control). Last time I tried it ate 2GB of RAM and 4GB of swap very quickly indeed.

This is with Kubuntu 9.04 Alpha2 64 bit on a Core 2 Duo.

I originally put : I don't get this behaviour on an Athlon system running the 32-bit version of Kubuntu : But now I've discovered this problem is intermittent, sometimes I do get it on both systems.

Update. Have discovered that this is caused because I have one contact on MSN who uses RadiusIM http://www.radiusim.com/ as their MSN client. Whenever this contact is online, or comes online, Kopete starts eating my RAM.

This issue is still occurring for me (Jaunty, fully updated) but I have found out that it only affects Kubuntu - other KDE4 distros I've tried (Mandriva, Fedora) do not have this problem. Is anybody looking at this, or is there anything I can do to assist?

kdenetwork-kde4 was the KDE4 kdenetwork package for Kubuntu 8.04, which is probably why this was never seen by anyone.
