[Win7/x64 Beta] Crash after roughly 30 mins of general use

Bug Description

Using the stable 0.46 build on Windows 7 Beta x64 version (the latest nightlies don't even work), Inkscape seems to crash every 30 minutes or so. I haven't timed it precisely but it is definitely not random. I'm not doing anything special while it crashes, just moving vertices around.

I don't think the issue specifically has anything to do with GTK+. Pidgin works mostly fine, though GIMP has it's own set of problems.

I don't think it's a good idea to file bugs for unreleased operating systems.
Windows 7 hasn't been released yet, and 0.47 will be released before, so I think it would be better to wait until they are both out.

It is 8 months on now since this post so i realise this may be a lost cause but I'll post my comment anyway and hope you read it (or at least hope someone will). Read below:

You pose a fair point Guillermo Espertino (Gez) and I accept that.
But 8 months later now and many people run on Windows 7 and would love a bug-free Inkscape, so reporting bugs for Windows now I believe is a good thing so here goes.

I ran Inkscape 0.47pre1 (and 0.46 if you read on) on Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7100. Most things were fine (it was usuable).
There were many bugs to do with extensions not working (default extensions as well as add-on extensions i downloaded). But other than that i loved Inkscape and was creating great stuff! :D

But one time I had inkscape screens open doing my stuff, clicked something and suddenly Inkscape Crashed! D:
It kept happening (not at regular intervals like SwissCM mentions but a very similar bug).
I could not deal with this as work was being lost :@!!
So i installed stable inkscape 0.46.

At first this seemed fine did not happen (extension bugs still there :@!)
Then one day... CRASH! again :'(

As said this is not at regular intervals like SwissCM mentions but it is a very similar bug. I (like him) am nothing nothing special when inkscape crashes just seems to happen :S?

Please help. I have reinstalled SEVERAL times but still happens.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

All I see in my win 7 dialog box is "Inkscape is no longer working and will now close the program"

When I ask win to look for issues, nothing arises.

I can use inkscape .47 for anywhere from an half hour to 2 hours before it crashes. It appears some of my last saves

This program is too great to let go. Could I please have an autosave?

Sorry, I am a bit frustrated.

I really appreciate all that has been done, and what is being done.

Hi Quat6,

An autosave is available, you just have to enable it! See the preferences, and look for the "save" tab.

See comment #4: could you try to catch some information from the command line? There might be information there which could help tracing this bug!

It is very likely that this bug is a duplicate of Bug #221712 and that it has nothing to do with Win 7.
Could you please test the tip given by Jon South in comment #21 and confirm it fixes this issue?
If not, please provide more details on the error message (like here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37344299/Inkscape-GDI-Objects.png).
Thanks!

The related bug #221712 (“GDI object leak in Pango hangs Inkscape after some time”) is now marked "Fix committed".
Could you please download the latest development files and confirmed your issue is fixed?
You just need to download the most recent 7zip file at http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D, uncompress it and run it directly from the uncompressed folder.
Thanks!
