Binary package hint: workrave

Likewise in Ubuntu Jaunty (Gnome 2.25.92), same workrave package version. Counters sit at their initial configured values and don't count.

psst, check the bug on the workrave bugzilla. the bug isnt kde or gnome specific, it had to do with an X upgrade, and the bug has already been addressed and a fix coded. note that the bug status even here on launchpad says fix released, implying that one of, if not the next version of workrave to appear in the repository will have the fix applied.

I know you were probably just trying to help confirm the bug, but please try to follow the link to the upstream bug tracker and learn all you can about the bug there, too.

I found some dupes of this. Since there is a fix we should definitely get this into Jaunty otherwise the app is rather useless!

Changed in workrave (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged
summary: - Timers don't work in Kubuntu Jaunty.
+ workrave doesn't receive keyboard/mouse events

I'll grab the upstream patch and push out a new version to Debian unstable.

Once that's done, we can request a sync to get this important bug fixed in Jaunty.

Cheers,
Francois

I've tested the patch and it works, so I put up a PPA for anyone wanting to test it / trying to avoid RSI in the mean time at https://launchpad.net/~mrooney/+archive/ppa .

I have applied that patch to the Debian package and requested a sync to jaunty in LP#346588.

I've installed .debs: workrave-data and workrave as posted by mrooney, but without any luck.
What is the correct procedure?
I'm prepared to install from workrave source either if I was told how to apply the patch to the 1.9.0 source..

Thanks!

If you are on Jaunty you shouldn't need my PPA as the fix was applied
there. What version of Ubuntu are you using?

I've uninstalled your PPA using Synaptic and reinstalled repository version (v 1.9.0-7)

Are you still having the issue after a restart?
