Bug Description

chooses says "gnome-network" is a package, launchpad says not

1) direct gnome-network-proxy at a privoxy proxy, ie HTTP: localhost:8118

2) add ::/0 to ignore list

3)direct firefox through system settings

4)type in 2001:4860:0:2001::68 (google)

result)502 error from privoxy (privoxy has no ipv6 support although aparentally red hat has patched it)

expected)gnome would skip the proxy and go straight to the address

was better the first time but launchpad ate my bug report

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in GNOME-CONTROL-CENTER.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are having an issue. thats completely unrelated at this point. did you even try out the test case? If it really is only that firefox uses gconf values only and gnome doesn't do any routing then i will report it to mozilla bugzilla, although it still is somewhat a problem, somthing that might be fixed by libproxy.
