Firefox sluggish in KDE4

Bug Description

In Kubuntu Intrepid (KDE 4.2 Beta), Firefox runs sluggishly with the gtk-qt-engine turned on.

By this I mean, it's a bit slow to open drop down boxes, switch tabs, open menus, or right click. It's very annoying.

I don't know if this is the KDE beta's fault, but I think that's unlikely since Firefox isn't a KDE app and the engine isn't really part of KDE.

Ok, scratch that. Firefox has the same behavior with gtk-qt-engine turned off. So it's just more sluggish in KDE 4.

Dunno what the deal is.

Ok, nevermind. I found the problem... it's because the local loopback wasn't upping at boot and it made some GTK apps slow.

Fixed it and it's fine now.

A more important bug is the one about Firefox not closing properly when the gtk-qt-engine thing is running. I've already reported it.

Invalidating since this was a system setup-type problem.
