Bug Description

The new KDE 4 in the new intrepid distribution ships with 4 desktops as a default. I personally use 10. After increasing the number of desktops to 10 only the first four desktop shifting commands Ctl-Fn work properly. For n=5,6,7 nothing happens, and for n=8,9,10 something else happens

Did you add the key bindings in System Setting -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard Shortcuts?

I think part of the issue is that the default settings don't set the bindings for other desktop other than 1, 2, 3 and 4

I did not understand that I was supposed to go the the "KWin" part of
the Keybords Shortcuts. Now that I found it, I added those missing
shortcuts manually, and indeed, they now work properly.

I think this is intentional. The upper area of the Fn keys is partly assigned to other functionality (mostly desktop effects). Considering this fact I think it is sensible to require manual shortcut definition for desktops > 4
