dvd-slideshow reports error using ffmpeg

I can confirm this error! This is very annoying, and seems to be a dvd-slideshow error see here: http://dvd-slideshow.sourceforge.net/wiki/Changelog_0.8.1

Please Please Please get the 8.1 version into the repos as soon as it is released. I think this will fix the problem.

Yes, I confirm this.
Version 0.8.1 fix it because of this (taken from 0.8.1 changelog):

dvd-slideshow needs to be upgraded to version 0.8.1.

I made some tests and that package alone doesn't fix the problem.

In a clean Intrepid install, for example, I get the same error even with the new package (0.8.2) installed.

The problem vanish installing ubuntu-restricted-extras.

I mean that dvd-slideshow 0.8.2 is fundamental but it needs some dependencies.

I try to find out what packages do the trick and then dvd-slideshow needs to be rebuilt with correct dependencies.

I'll put here results of tests.

Ok, I made some test on Intrepid.

Installing ubuntu-restricted-extra fixes the bug because it replaces libavcodec51 with libavcodec-unstripped-51.

 libavcodec51 is a dependence of ffmpeg that installs it by default (as other packages).

But ffmpeg dependence is libavcodec51 OR libavcodec-unstripped-51, so we should install this last by default to do the trick.

Can you confirm this bug for Jaunty?

Yes, I confirm it for Jaunty but it's fixed with dvd-slideshow version 0.8.2, but it still needs libavcodec-unstripped-52 (51 for Intrepid) to be installed.

Putting it as a dependence of dvd-slideshow fixes the bug.

This bug was fixed in the package dvd-slideshow - 0.8.2-0.0ubuntu2
