[intrepid] grey text says "Canonical provides updates" for packages in 3rd party archive (after the user added the repo gpg key and the meta-data is the same as the main archive)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

There is a grey text at the bottom of a package description about Canonical/Community providing updates for this package. As you can see in the attached screenshot this text also appears for packages from a 3rd party repository. This looks like a legal issue to me and should in my opinion be (if confirmed) release critical.

Version:
ii synaptic 0.62.1ubuntu10 Graphical package manager

I can confirm this behavior when adding the repositories from http://www.array.org (specifically "deb http://www.array.org/ubuntu intrepid eeepc") after having imported the gpg key. I note that I don't see this behavior for repositories on launchpad.

Speaking with Michael about this I've found out that it only happens with specific repositories and requires the meta-data to be signed so it seems like a corner case.

Please note that this only happens if the gpg key is added. The reason is that the meta-data of that repository mimics exactly the one from archive.ubuntu.com.

I put this on my agenda for the jaunty release that it should better differentiate.
