uvcvideo does not work anymore

Bug Description

I'm running linux-2.6.27-7.13 and my webcam does not work anymore. It used to work during the intrepid developement, but I cannot tell you in which moment it stopped working, since I hardly ever use it.
This is the webcam id

it is correctly found and loaded, but when open cheese the image is not shown, even if the webcam led lights up.
I've also tried with ekiga with the same result.
I don't see anything strange in the log files

Same problem here. Webcam worked well till I switched to 2.6.27-7.
/var/log/syslog now reports:

/var/log/syslog:Oct 28 13:14:10 perthtatile kernel: [11916.088343] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:09a4)

Recompiling uvcvideo driver from SVN as described in bug #287888 solved the problem. Now cheese, skype and all other programs interacting with my webcam work again. Note that running:
mplayer tv:// -fps 15 -tv driver=v4l2:width=800:height=600:device=/dev/video0
worked also with the old driver coming from Ubuntu.

This is most probably a dup from bug #290506

Could you confirm to us if changing the resolution within cheese properties menu to 176x144 gives you video?

also without using the cvs compiled driver?

Ok, acording to the description from the original reporter i'm marking this as duplicate of bug #287888 instead of the previous one. It seems we've got a bug affecting cheese/gstreamer (bug #290506) and another one affecting uvcvideo (bug #287888).
