Bug Description

Facebook status updates have a little 'reply' image, however clicking on it does nothing. Facebook has the concept of 'comments' on status updates, this is what replying to a post should do. However there is no way to do it from inside gwibber.

Is this even supported by facebook? The ability to comment on someone's status _outside_ of facebook?

Changed in gwibber:
status: New → Incomplete

As far as I know, the Facebook API does not support posting comments on status items. The real bug here is that the Facebook items are showing a reply arrow. The arrow should only be visible on items that support reply functionality. I'll work on a fix for that in the new replytab branch and try to get it merged with all the other current development features.

Clicking on this reply also seems to break all of the reply links in every message; ie, after clicking on one of the facebook reply icons, none of the others will do anything until a restart of gwibber.

The reply link should take you to the web page where you can then reply. This would be the most sensible way for it to gracefully degrade.

Now that facebook have enabled more developer access to read and write to the 'stream', Ryan has started working support for this in Gwibber.

Yes I would really like this, just as described to begin with, It sure beats the clumsy slow interface on facebook.
then extra, if I could somehow set it to do a reply all, that would put my reply on twitter & othrs with a #facebook #username,

Replying to a message in Gwibber is not reflected in Gwibber. When I click the Sent button (presumably there to show me what I have sent to Facebook) nothing is shown. Replies from Gwibber do show up as comments on the FB website, but if I have to open up the website just to view a complete post before I reply, it seems to defeat the purpose of having it on my desktop.

In other words, how can I view complete messages, with comments in Gwibber. It would make sense to me that when a message is selected in Gwibber, there is a way to show all replies.

Or, maybe I'm just missing the whole point of Gwibber...
Is there some better documentation out there somewhere?
