Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Ubiquity collects information about the primary user during install like, first, last, and middle name. This information should appear in System Settings > Personal > About Me after installation, but it doesn't. This is a regression from 8.04.

I'm using the Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) Beta Desktop amd64 CD. kdepasswd is 4:4.1.2-0ubuntu4.

Thanks for taking the time and helping to make Kubuntu better.

Could you please check if the information is in the file /etc/passwd.

Thanks

Yes, the information is in /etc/passwd, and kdm greets the new user by name immediately post install. It seems, then, that this is a problem with kdepasswd rather than ubiquity.

Is this still an issue in Kubuntu 9.10?
