Bug Description

Configuration:
Ethernet network with static IPs assignment. DHCP not in use, I have to assign IP manually.
I have nForce 570 chipset, dual Ethernet adapters on motherboard are built-in.

To reproduce:
 1) Boot Kubuntu 8.10 x64 beta CD.
 2) Try to set-up static IP via network manager (resides in tray).Create connection with proper parameters.
 3) Try to force it to use created connection

Result:
Nothing happens. Configuration not applied to interface so no network. All my attempts to configure Ethernet network via GUI failed. I can't get networking with LiveCD through GUI-based settings.
