Bug Description

Binary package hint: idle

Closing a popup-window like

- goto line number (input number, then press ENTER or click close-button)
- compiler error message (read text and press ENTER or click close-button)

not only this popup disappears but also
IDLE itself together with all opend files!

Work around:
Do not leave popup immediately, but switch back to the source code window and THEN back to the popup!
If you leave it now, everything is good and IDLE does not vanish!

PS: I'm running Ubuntu/Hardy

Today (2008-10-11) not even my work-arround does its job!

E.g.: Calling the config-window and closing it by pressing the OK button
causes IDLE to disappear!
But not every time...!

please could you recheck this in jaunty (using the idle from python2.6)?

Hello Matthias,
I'm afraid no, because the newest ubuntu-version (installed yesterday,
2009-03-18) does NOT offer python2.6!
btw: what does 'jaunty' mean?
