Bug Description

Binary package hint: kwrite-kde4

The spelling check while writing does not work in kwrite-kde4. I check it with kde 4.1.2 (kubutnu packages). There is a bug report in the upper stream (kde bugzaille ) about this and it say this bug is fixed.

On kde 4.1.2 and Ubuntu 8.10 with KDE packages I get the same problem with Kate and Kile.

The spell check does work in the lates KDE 4.1.* releases. However, there is no on-the-fly spell checking in Kate, similar text editors and Kate-based source editrons (e.g., Kile). The messages on this forum:

tell us that on-the-fly spell checking was not implemented a couple of months ago. Is there an information about the present state of this problem? Is there an implemented on-the-fly spellchecking in the latest KDE releases? It would be very useful.
